Wynyard Hall has partnered with Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation in a bid to raise £10,000 for charities in the local area to support them through this difficult time.
During the Covid-19 crisis, the charity has focused on supporting vulnerable families struggling to put food on the table, purchasing PPE and other vital equipment for frontline health and charity workers.
Wynyard Hall officials have requested that all donations be split equally to support local food banks, domestic abuse charities and vulnerable families throughout Teesside.
Wynyard Hall directors, Allison and Sarah Antonopoulos and local businessman Sir John Hall, have kickstarted the fundraising with an “incredibly generous” donation of £5,000.
Speaking of their donation, Sarah said, “We recognise that Wynyard Hall is a big part of the Teesside and Middlesbrough community and whilst we’re closed, we’d like to use our following to raise awareness and support these incredibly important causes during such a difficult time.”
Lee Bramley, the Foundation’s Chair of Trustees said: “This is an incredibly generous donation by Wynyard Hall at a challenging time for all businesses but especially venues such as theirs. To make such a donation in aid of vulnerable Teessiders at such a time says much about them, and we’ll be delighted to ensure their donation goes towards the local causes closest to their hearts. Let’s hope, with their support, the amount can be doubled to £10,000.”
