How Did You Meet?
Tom and I have known each other since we were 14. Our paths crossed again after university when Tom posted his Easter egg masterpiece on Instagram, which sparked our first conversation in years. We met up over Easter for our first date, and the rest is history. A couple of years later, Tom proposed during a romantic sunset picnic on Bamburgh beach!
Why Did You Choose Wynyard Hall?
It was love at first sight! From the moment we drove through the grounds to walking into the Statue Gallery, we were completely blown away. Every room in the hall is stunning, from the Ballroom to the Mirror Room to the Library. We fell in love with the Conservatory for its breathtaking views, modern bar, and abundant natural light, making it the perfect setting for our wedding breakfast. Having a beautiful chapel on-site was important to us, and Wynyard Hall’s was perfect. We also needed a venue that could accommodate our nearest and dearest, and Wynyard Hall’s stunning bedrooms, particularly The Duke of Wellington Suite, sealed the deal. It was the perfect backdrop for our black-tie wedding.
Describe the Wedding Day
Our wedding day was perfect. It started with a champagne reception for our guests, and our ceremony took place at 12:30 pm in the chapel. The ceremony was magical, filled with love, laughter, and happy tears.
After the ceremony, we moved to the Statue Gallery for more fizz and canapés, with the Arco String Quartet setting the ambience. The weather held up long enough for us to take some gorgeous photos in the grounds, with daffodils in full bloom.
Our wedding breakfast was held in the Conservatory. We were thrilled to see our classic white theme come to life. Following the breakfast, we returned to the Statue Gallery for a champagne tower and cocktail hour before dancing the night away. The team at Wynyard Hall was amazing and attentive, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment.

Any Special Details
We created newspapers for our guests featuring funny stories about the bridal party and advice given to us as part of their RSVPs. This was a great way to include everyone and provided conversation starters during the wedding breakfast. We also made scratch cards where guests could win a free drink, which was a hit! The champagne tower also made for some fantastic photos.
A Tip for Future Couples
Be present and keep taking time to appreciate the moment. Stay together as much as possible.
