The Grand Marquee at Wynyard Hall is not only surrounded by uninterrupted views of stunning parkland, but also offers high spec audio-visual facilities and can seat up to 650 guests – making it the ideal venue for conferences, debates and large corporate events.
This year the Grand Marquee has seen some of the North East’s most influential organisations and businesses pass through its doors.
On October 16th Wynyard Hall welcomed top business and political leaders including James Wharton, Chi Onwurah, James Beard, Alison Thain, David Robinson and David Weatherburn to debate the Government’s Northern Powerhouse agenda.
The corporate event titled ‘What Now for the Northern Powerhouse’ was a project to help re-balance the UK economy and has been made a priority by the new government.
Discussions covered devolution, regional identity, transport and skills with audience members given the opportunity to express their thoughts on current affairs within the North East.
As to be expected, the high profile event gained substantial local media coverage, with journalists from the Chronicle and Evening Gazette in attendance live tweeting / blogging throughout the morning.
