This versatile venue has a reception area for arrival drinks and greeting guests, plus plenty of space for dining and evening celebrations. We can accommodate up to 650 guests in the main body of the marquee, however we have welcomed over 1000 guests with the addition of a reception marquee in the Gardens.

The Grand Marquee is a permanent structure in the grounds of Wynyard Hall. Open all year round and surrounded by acres of stunning parkland and structured Gardens, it is without doubt one of the North’s best Asian Wedding Venues.

Stunning Backdrop

The Gardens, though which your guests enter The Grand Marquee, provide a stunning backdrop for Wedding Photography!

Your guests will enter through the Bell Tower and walk through the the Walled Garden, which is brimming with over 3000 David Austen Roses. Peak times are July – August, though the roses often make an early appearance in May and have been know to still be in bloom late-September / early-October! You will also have exclusive use of the Marquee Garden on the day of your wedding, which is ideal for reception drinks (weather permitting).

External Caterers

Your catering suppliers will enjoy use of our high-spec kitchen facilities, designed to deliver an excellent service for 600 guests. You are welcome to bring in your own suppliers, or we have a number of recommended suppliers that we have developed an excellent working relationship with over the years. We do require external suppliers to provide HACCP documentation in order to gain entry to our facilities.

What’s Included?

As standard, our prices include use of our tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery and table linen for up to 650 guests. We also include use of our dance floor, lighting and sound systems. We ask you to meet with your Wedding Coordinator as a minimum 6-months and 1-month prior to your Wedding to run through everything you will need on your day. Our Wedding Coordinators will guide you through the experience and work alongside your chosen suppliers to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.

Wedding Accommodation

Subject to availability, The Gardener’s Cottage is available for the Bridal Party on the night before or after the Wedding. Ideally located in the Walled Garden, it is a short (2 minute) walk to the Grand Marquee. The Cottage is often used by the bridal party on the day of the wedding to get ready in, though it can also be used by the Bride and Groom on the night of their wedding.

Wedding guests are welcome to stay in the main Hall or one of the other cottages nestled in the parkland, however if there is a wedding taking place in the main Hall we are not able to offer accommodation to the Bride or Groom in the main Hall on the night before or after the wedding.

Car Parking

Free car parking is available onsite for 1000+ cars. Situated just outside the Walled Garden, car parking is convenient located for Wedding guests, with only a short walk to the Marquee. Disabled car parking is available and special arrangements can be made for any guests with limited mobility through your Wedding Coordinator.
