Kevin and Amy's Magical Wynyard Hall Wedding

Why did you book Wynyard Hall as your wedding venue?
We had already visited a couple venues, originally looking to marry in a tipi or marquee. When we stepped through the doors of Wynyard Hall, we instantly had a change of heart and knew it was ‘the one’. The building had such a warm, welcoming feel to it; the elegance and grandeur was all too much for Amy, whose eyes filled up in the Statue Gallery!

Tell us about your wedding day?
The wedding day was everything we had dreamed of and more. Our vision came to life as if the events team had plucked it out of our heads. The service provided to all of our guests throughout the day was second to none, everyone commented on how attentive the staff were, how delicious the food was and how beautiful the venue was overall.

What did the Bride wear?
Dress: Crepe with embroidery and a bespoke cape-style veil attaching at the shoulders – Wildflower Bridal.
Shoes: White pointed satin heels with a pearl buckle.
Accessories: Silver and pearl headband purchased from Vinted!
Jewellery: Swarovski bracelet given by the groom as a present on our first Christmas as a couple. Pearl drop earrings.
Bridesmaids: Sage Onlyway dresses from Beautiful Day Bridal.

And the Groom?
Suit: Bespoke by Dandy Threads.
Shoes: Patent dress shoes – Hawes and Curtis.
Accessories: Personalised cufflinks gifted by the bride. Gunmetal grey pocket watch.
Groomsmen: Stone Donegal suits – Skopes, paired with black trousers.

Tell us about your wedding cake?
Made by the amazing Poppy Elcoate. Three tiers: lemon, Victoria Sponge and chocolate orange. Decorated with butter icing in white and sage with gold leaf detailing. Finished with a wooden cake topper and nude silk roses and eucalyptus to tie in with the theme of the wedding décor. An extra special addition to our cake was a small figurine of our beloved dog who looked as if he was having a cheeky lick of the icing!

Special details from your special day?
Games, pick n’ mix and photo props kept the little ones (and not so little ones) entertained.
We were lucky enough to have The Funk Collective perform a set at our evening reception, a sure-fire way to fill the dancefloor.

Any tips for future couples?
Make sure you take time out to appreciate the journey you have been on with your other half and how your big day is unfolding. We were actually closed in to the library by the Master of Ceremonies for a ten-minute breather, this was much appreciated!

Do you have anywhere in mind for your honeymoon?
