July has been a super busy month at The Gardens. Our construction team and gardeners have been working tirelessly, ready for the grand opening of The Gardens’ next phase, and we’re getting pretty excited…
Glass panes are now going into the Glasshouse. Once complete, it will be an inspirational hub of learning and creativity. We’re currently planning an event calendar, which will be jam-packed with all kinds of classes, from jam and chutney making to floristry and organic gardening, and lots for the kids too! If you loved our Spring Cookery Class or Christmas Wreath making, then this is definitely for you!
We’ll be holding educational learning sessions for groups of children, in the new Edible Garden. Vegetable plots will soon be brimming with the most delicious home-grown produce – from asparagus, beetroot and squashes to wild, white strawberries. It’s the perfect place for kids to learn about planting, organic produce and where our food comes from.
This phase of The Gardens will be open from September 2016, please contact The Gardens directly for more information, call 01740 665415.
The Farm Shop
Deliveries have arrived from some of our new suppliers. We’re thrilled to be stocking Bramley and Gage gin, including their best-selling ‘6 O’clock’ blend. It’s strikingly smooth with a clean Juniper-lead flavour. If you’re looking for a little ‘ginspiration’, why not try the cocktail recipe below:
• 50ml 6 O’clock Gin
• 12.5ml Bramley & Gage Blackberry Liqueur
• 12.5ml Sugar Syrup
• 25ml Fresh Lemon Juice
If cocktails are more your thing, we have some fab new ‘Rocktail’ non-alcoholic cocktail mixers. Flavours include Mockito, Sunset Sling, the Thyme Collins and Coco Colada – super refreshing! They’re available in 250ml pouches, and are priced at £3.50 each.
What’s on at The Gardens
Our first children’s events were a roaring success too. This month we welcomed Heartbreak Productions for our first open-air theatre. They performed an adaption of David Walliams best-selling book, Ratburger, while guests relaxed on the grass with picnic blankets.
The Gardens also delved deeply into some of your favourite English novels, with stilt walkers and dancing entertainers on Wonderland Day, followed by an animal petting farm and vegetable planting on Beatrix Potter Day.
We have lots more exciting things coming up, so please follow don’t forget to like The Gardens’ Facebook Page, or sign up to our the newsletter at the bottom of the homepage on our website, to be the first to know about new products, events and openings.
